Our response to the Fisheries Amendment Bill postponement

It is disappointing that the timeframe for the Fisheries Amendment Bill has been delayed, but its intention to modernise the out-of-date Fisheries Act 1996 remains, as improvements to this decades old regulatory system are essential. Our fisheries management system must continue to evolve alongside better data, modern technology, and practical, evidence-based decision-making, so we look forward to seeing the Bill progress after the election.
