The chair of Seafood Innovations Limited (SIL), Dave Sharp, today announced that Tony Hadfield has resigned as General Manager after seven years in the role.
Tony has played a key role in increasing the seafood industrys awareness of the links between research and economic performance. While we are disappointed to lose Tonys services we appreciate the reasons for his decision and wish Tony well for the future, says Mr Sharp.
We are very pleased that Tony will continue to be available to Seafood Innovations in an advisory role, and that John Gibson, who has a long history with the company, has agreed to act as General Manager in the interim.
I have greatly enjoyed my time at Seafood Innovations and feel privileged to have been involved in such an exciting organisation, says Mr Hadfield.
I have also thoroughly enjoyed working alongside the board of directors, and have particularly appreciated the support and advice of the chair, Dave Sharp, over that time".
The people within the seafood industry that I have met over the seven years have been absolutely fantastic to work with. I would like to think that the profile of R&D is now somewhat higher and that the industry is in a stronger position to realise its significant economic growth potential.
I am also pleased to see that the government has recently expressed confidence in the industry, and Seafood Innovations performance, by agreeing to another seven years of funding through the Research Partnerships fund, said Mr Hadfield.
